Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 18) - General Motors and its Chinese joint ventures have sold over two million vehicles in China since the start of the year, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. This is the second year GM, the first foreign manufacturer to sell over a million vehicles in the country in one year, has broken the two million sales barrier.
Kevin E. Wale, president and managing director of the GM China Group, was pleased at his company's performance in the country, saying that, no matter how competitive the market becomes, GM will strive to maintain high quality standards for its brands.
Several of GM's subsidiaries have been developing rapidly in China, with the Cadillac and Buick brands growing 73 percent and 24 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, SAIC-GM-Wuling announced 2011 sales of over one million vehicles so far.
