CATHAY Pacific Airways Ltd warned yesterday its profit would be disappointing this year because of rising fuel costs.

The Hong Kong-based airline said it paid 60 percent more for fuel in the first half than in the same period last year. The most recent spot price for jet fuel was more than 90 percent above last year's average, it said.
