On March 19, China UnionPay and Taishin International Bank jointly declared that the emergent cash support service of the China UnionPay has been offered in Taiwan province. If a UnionPay card holder cannot use or has lost his card in Taiwan, he can get the emergent cash support at the service department of the Taishin International Bank or 12 other authorized service sites in Taichung, Tainan, Hualien and other places.

The emergent cash support service of the UnionPay card is one of the guarantee services offered to UnionPay card holders. If an overseas UnionPay card holder encounters an emergency, he can dial the China UnionPay service hotline of the country or region or the service hotline of the card-issuing bank in China to get the emergent cash support at a close site.

The executive vice president of the China UnionPay Cai Jianbo said that this step will further expand the UnionPay card's services in Taiwan and is also an improvement to the service system for overseas UnionPay card holders. He believes that it will serve the “individual sightseeing” better and meanwhile further deepen the financial cooperation between mainland and Taiwan.
