摘要

Teledensity in Yemen is among the lowest in the Arab states, reflecting the country’s economic development. Whilst some modernisation of the national communications network has taken place and ADSL services are available, most development has been in the mobile segment. There are now three competing mobile operators, plus a newly launched fourth operator, and mobile subscriber levels are growing rapidly, albeit from a very small base. This has created interest in the market from other regional operators. This report provides an overview on the development of Yemen’s communication’s network, brief profiles of major operators as well as statistics to highlight the country’s developing communications sector.
