2010-2015年美国绝缘电线电缆行业预测报告
NEW US industry forecasts to 2010 & 2015 Insulated Wire & Cable
Study # 2093 September 2006 $4400
US demand to grow 4.3% per annum through 2010 US demand for insulated wire and cable is forecast to grow 4.3 percent annually to $21.5 billion in 2010, a rebound from declines early in the decade. An improved capital investment climate, as well as rising motor vehicle production levels and strong growth in nonresidential construction expenditures, will provide opportunities for wire and cable suppliers. Product innovations will also help to boost demand, although pricing competition in the industry will remain intense. Furthermore, the sharp price increases of 2004 and 2005 are expected to be temporary, as costs for the raw materials which drove these increases drop off their highs. Rebounding fiber optic segment to exhibit strongest gains Among the product segments, fiber optic cable will post the strongest gains, rising more than nine percent annually off a weak 2005 base. Most of the 2000-2005 period saw weak demand in the wake of the overbuilding of fiber optic telecom networks in 1999 and 2000. However, fiber optic sales are expected to rebound through 2010 as demand for high-speed data services expands. The large electronic, power and telephone wire and cable segments will also exhibit strong growth, as demand for the equipment that uses these components increases. However, the building wire and cable market will see a sharp deceleration, primarily due to weakness in the new housing market. Electronic product market fastest growing Building construction, electrical equipment and electronic equipment will continue to consume the vast majority of insulated wire and cable products due to the significant electricity handling and directing required in these devices and structures. In 2005, these markets accounted for more than 80 percent of total insulated wire and cable demand. The electronic product market will continue to recover from the crash that followed the bursting of the technology bubble and will once again become the largest market by the end of the decade. The electronic product market (which includes communications equipment, computers and other electronic products) will see the fastest increases of any major wire and cable market. Gains will be driven by both strong shipment increases for many types of electronic equipment and because of the rebound in fiber optic wire and cable shipments. Study coverage Details on these and other key findings are contained in Insulated Wire & Cable, a new Freedonia industry study available for $4400. It presents historical demand data through 2005 as well as forecasts to 2010 and 2015 by material, product and market. The study also evaluates market share data and profiles 34 competitors in the US industry.
