Abstract
This report is based on large amount of survey and research. Full and accurate research data as well as actual situation of DTV operation in different regions of China is the main foundation of it.
The survey takes questionnaire as the main method of survey and research, and combines various methods such as telephone interview, depth interview, field survey, website survey, subscriber sampling. It started in December 2005 in order to comprehensively reflect the whole situation of the natural year, and it ended in the beginning of March 2006. Concerning the using of survey data, it cites data in relevant part according to the body structure of the report.
Since 2003, R&TI Research of Radio&Televison Information (R&TI) has been comprehensively doing research on China DTV industry, and releasing "China DTV Industry Report" every year, whose fourth issue is this report. Many institutions such as China DTV operators, investment institutions, equipment manufacturers and program providers all pay close attention and give accord commendation to this report. therefore it has become the reference material for experts as well as domestic and foreign institutions paying attention to China DTV industry to get familiar with China DTV market, analyze development trends and make out strategy for industry development.
In 2005, China cable DTV made a breakthrough which can be shown in the data that DTV subscriber number rose from 1.067 million to 4.393 million. Meanwhile, the pay-TV industry chain took shape, and HDTV started to be launched. Also based on first-hand research data, this report comprehensively reflects current situation of China DTV as well as giving a full and accurate description of China broadcasting industry development. It also analyzes and discusses relevant policy on DTV and makes an all-round analysis of DTV developement trends.
