Abstract
The global Output of solar energy battery grew by twenty-six times in 1996-2006, seeing annual compound growth rate of 38%; and the annual installed capacity of solar energy battery increased by twenty-two times in 1996-2006, with an annual compound growth rate of 36%. As expected, solar energy will enter the mainstream energy market in large scale during 2020-2030.
China solar energy battery industry takes on taper layout, and high-pureness polycrystalline silicon can not be mass produced in China. Over 95% of domestic demand relies on the importation.
The application of solar energy battery mainly rests with merged grid market. And the installation of system integration needs to be done in local market. Product application and development enterprises in the downstream are mainly involved in off-grid application. In spite of numerous enterprises, the relatively low added value leads to limited output value. In 2005, China's production capacity of solar energy battery stood at 420 MW or so, and the figure rose to 1,450MW in 2006.
