Encouraged by favored policies from central government in 2004, China's crop planting areas have been effectively expanded and the farmers' enthusiasm in crop planting improved obviously. As investment in prevention and cure of plant diseases, insect pests and weeds has increased considerably, China's farmers have achieved high crop yields and revenue. Benefiting from the prosperity of agriculture, strong demand for pesticides emerged and China's pesticide industry began to step out of bottom to recover. The overproduction of pesticides has been kept within limits, products structure has been obviously optimized, and export trade of pesticides continues to prosper. The industry is performing preferably.
In 2005 domestic pesticides supply is likely to take on a tendency of steady to drop. With the farmers' rising enthusiasm in crop planting, displacement of high poisonous pesticides, the still serious problems of plant diseases, insect pests and weeds, and continuing rapid growth of pesticides export, demand for pesticides will remain strong in 2005. We believe the pesticide sector will continue to recover and further prosper in 2005.
We value such three types of pesticide firms as leaders in a segmented market, those with technology advantages or marketing pattern innovations.
